Anita, aka Daaahling Energi, is a dancer, painter, designer and cultural educator living in the Mission District of San Francisco. She was born in Mexico to a family of musicians for whom dance was an integral part of family life. Anitahas over 15 years of dance experience and she loves to perform and teach. Her specialties include Vogue, Egyptian belly dance, and House. Her formal dance training includes various urban and international folk dance styles. She is an alum of Ballet Folklorico de Stanford.  As a visual artist, Anitaspecializes in Días de los Muertos paintings, altars and ceremony. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally. After pursuing a successful career in public health policy and community education, Anita transitioned to working at arts non-profits. Anita sees cultural preservation as integral to the health and well-being of a community.   She brings this philosophy and her passion for Vogue dance to The House of Energi. Anita believes that a healthy community is a creative community.
